Former W.E.C Light heavyweight champion, Steve Cantwell is up against one UFC’s up and coming light heavyweights Luiz Cane. Both fighters have very good records, Cantwell holding a record of 7-1-0 with the loss coming to Brian Stann, who he later defeated and is incidentally fighting on the same UFC 97 card against Krzysztof Soszynski. Luiz Cane hold a record of 10-1-1 and also holds more experience inside the octagon.

Originally Cane was supposed to take on Keith Jardine, but this fight fell through when Jardine got a better offer with a fight against Quinto Jackson at UFC 96, after Rashad Evans who was means to fight Jackson at UFC 96 had to pull out. Jardine went on to lose to Jackson by unanimous decision at UFC 96.

I am definitely considering putting a bet on Steve Cantwell in this fight. He did very well in the W.E.C and has a good record. I think the odds should be much closer then the bookmakers have them, so i would definitely get some value from betting on the underdog here.
