On the 24th May 2008 the UFC moves to the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Nevada for UFC84 ILL WILL, where the Lightweight Championship will be contested between current holder “The Prodigy” BJ Penn (13-4-1) and former champion Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk (35-2-1).
The fight card also throws up some fantastic match ups in the octagon, where Wanderlei Silva will fight Keith Jardine, who sensationally beat Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell in a split decision at UFC76 and we see the welcome return of former Light Heavyweight Champion "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz as he squares up to the undefeated karate master, Lyoto Machida.
Third billing on the card sees Wilson Gouveia take on the undefeated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist Goran Reljic in a hotly anticipated 205lb match. Also fighting in the 205lb category and another of our featured matches is Thiago Silva who will be taking on the Thai specialist Antonio Mendes.
As always, championship fights with be contested over 5 five minute rounds and non-championship fights over 3 five minutes rounds. The round winner gets 10 points and the loser 9 points or less.
