Hatsu Hioki has been widely regarded as one of the best featherweights on the planet over the last 5 years, and with a huge win over Marlon Sandro at the end of 2011, his stock soared even further. His UFC debut however would be disappointing, as he barely took a split decision against George Roop, and a win here could earn him a title shot.
Hatsu Hioki vs Bart Palaszewski Odds;
Hioki- (-180) – Bovada.Lv [<- Up To $100 Free Bet]
Palaszewski – (+140) – Bovada.Lv [<- Up To $100 Free Bet]
Bart Palaszewski came over from the WEC where outside of a big win over Anthony Pettis, had not accomplished much. However, his UFC debut would be successful with a big knockout win over Tyson Griffin to make his mark in the division.
Stylistically, on paper Palaszewski is the better striker and Hioki is the better grappler. However, Palaszewski is very underrated on the ground, and although Hioki’s standup is a little underrated, it’s probably not even close to Hioki’s class. Ultimately though, this fight should be decided by the wrestling, and whether Hioki can drag Palaszewski to the ground.
The Hatsu Hioki vs Bart Palaszewski betting prediction is that Hioki strikes conservatively, establishes the clinch, and finishes Palaszewski on the ground. While I’d like to avoid putting too much stock into this fight taking place in Japan, the flight to the States might have affected Hioki against Roop, and the fact that this is in Japan decreases the chance that the referee will stand this fight up once it hits the ground. At the -180 price, I think a small play on Hioki has to be warranted, if only based on the Sandro performance.
Hatsu Hioki vs Bart Palaszewski Betting Conclusion: You can’t be shocked with a Palasewski knockout, but at the current Hioki Vs Palaezewski Odds, a small play has to be warranted on Hioki to implement his game and score another win.
