Yushin Okami vs Tim Boetsch Odds

After big wins over Mark Munoz and Nate Marquardt, Yushin Okami finally got a title shot against Anderson Silva in the fall of 2011. While he was doing okay early, Okami was hurt at the end of the first round, and finished in the second. Now, he’s looking to bounce back, and potentially earn his way back to another title shot.

Best Yushin Okami vs Tim Boetsch Odds:

Okami- (-300) – Bovada.Lv [<- Up To $100 Free Bet]
Boetsch – (+230) – Bovada.Lv [<- Up To $100 Free Bet]

Tim Boetsch has fought in the UFC for a while, although primarily as a light heavyweight. In 2011, he dropped down to middleweight where he has since gone 2-0 with wins over Kendall Grove and Nick Ring, where Boetsch returned to his wrestling roots to make a statement in the division.

I’m really not sure how Boetsch wins this outside of one big punch, and Boetsch has never shown big power, and Okami has never really had chin issues outside of the Anderson Silva fight. Striking-wise, Okami has generally outstruck his opponents using his superior jab, and his wrestling should be more than good enough to keep this fight standing. Further, Okami will likely be able to take Boetsch down as well if the opportunity presents itself.

The Yushin Okami vs Tim Boetsch prediction is that Okami bloodies Boestch by outboxing him, finishing his opponent late. While you can’t be thrilled with the -300 price, I think it still has to warrant a small play, as I feel Okami is an elite level fighter, a bad stylistic matchup for Boetsch, and Boetsch doesn’t really have a way of winning this fight via a fluke.

Yushin Okami vs Tim Boetsch Betting Conclusion: Okami’s wrestling should be more than good enough to keep this standing, and his straight punches should overwhelm Boetsch. At -300, play it small [3 Units].
